Hi and welcome!
I’m Ella. The chef, taste tester, photographer, blogger, and fitness enthusiast behind Ellaphant Eats.
I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my boyfriend Casey and my “full-time” job is working as a Clinical Data Manager. Within this blog you’ll find recipes with real food ingredients spanning appetizers to entrees and everything in between. You’ll also get fitness information, tips, and workouts as fitness is something i am extremely passionate about. And lastly, you’ll read about random tidbits of my every day life, ridiculous stories about Dexter (more on him below), and any randomness that comes my way.
When it comes to food my focus has dramatically changed and i now focus on “quality” and not so much on “quantity” (read: counting calories). I mainly focus on whole, nutritious foods but of course believe “everything in moderation” is the key to success. I truly believe that spinach and kale are the best medicine but could never turn down a slice of pizza.
I am in no way a well seasoned cook or baker. In fact, up until a few years ago, the only spices i owned were salt and pepper. It wasn’t until i moved into my own apartment that i fell in love with experimenting in the kitchen and nourishing myself with foods that didn’t come frozen or in a box. I am still learning and progressing each day but i am excited to share my kitchen successes (and failures!) with all of you.
And last but not least…
This is Dexter.
He’s my 7 year old beagle yorkie mix who brings an unbelievable amount of joy to Casey and I.
He is extremely needy, loves clementines, watermelon, and broccoli stems, is a complete cuddle monster, and seriously makes me laugh every. single. day.
The ridiculous stories i have regarding him could fill up an entire blog on their own. I’m serious.
You’ll see him pop up from time to time so i wanted to be sure to introduce you.
Ps – i did a get to know me post found here.
